Recorded in Portland’s urban transition zone, the album reflects the atmosphere caught between decay and new beginnings: abandoned industrial buildings meet the early stages of gentrification. This backdrop shapes the sound—a mix of detached soundscapes, gritty guitars, and edgy synths. The songs oscillate between nostalgia and escapism: While ‘City Lights Receding” captures the longing for a lost past, ‘Kármán Line” tells of a radical desire to break free and the search for meaning amid the spectacle.
