Gimic finally release their debut album on Drunken Sailor after a demo and two 7” singles on Crew Cuts Records.
Gimic are a band that take their time and deal in quality over quantity having released just 13 songs so far in their six year life span.
New Traditions is a 12 song album that plays and feels like a mission statement and a record that will be loved by the current generation but also will be discovered in years to come as one of 2026’s masterpieces. It’s urgent, energetic and twists and turns at every corner. The rhythmn section is locked in and in perfect harmony whilst the guitar tone is clean and sharp but it’s Harry’s voice that give it that confrontational and emotional edge with her blood-curdlingly vocals.
It’s like a hardcore Minutemen mixed with an angry math rock band mixed with the musicanship of No Means No. This is a punk record by four people who live and breathe DIY Punk. Gimic have made an outstanding and inventive album that deserves your love and attention. - Sean Forbes
