Limited edition green vinyl. A dozen years ago, Reggae Archive Records reissued the classic UK roots 12" "Juggernaut" from legendary Leicester reggae band Groundation. Groundation were a key part of what, with hindsight, was a very special period when homegrown UK bands closed the gap with their Jamaican counterparts, reaching parity in songwriting and musicianship with an added British twist. Looked down upon at the time by a music press and buying public that believed only Jamaican reggae could be authentic, the passage of time allows a fairer judgement of UK roots reggae; four and five decades ago, British bands reached a peak of performance that was barely catalogued at the time This year we've been doing our utmost to fill in those historical gaps by reissuing many lost classics of British reggae; "Juggernaut and "Fa Ward" fit the criteria. We've gone back to our original tape transfers and remastered the music to surpass our previous reissue and make the music readily available again. "Juggernaut" is a bass-heavy instrumental, beloved of sound systems and Jah Shaka fans. "Fa Ward" is an inspiring and uplifting vocal that leads into a heavy dub workout. Both cuts are bona fide classics.
