Lina Selleby, born March 5, 1971 in Gävle, Gävleborg County, died August 6, 2024 in Enskededalen in Stockholm, was a Swedish pop artist in the band Doktor Kosmos and a solo artist. In the band Doktor Kosmos, she went by the name Twiggy Pop, a band she co-founded in 1991 where she sang and played synth. "Lyckan" was her solo debut and only solo album. The album was originally released digitally in January 2024 but is now also being released on vinyl.
- My album contains a whole life of unhappy love. I have always been ashamed of being in love. It is shameful and embarrassing.
Lina Selleby's album was actually just supposed to be recorded. She hadn't thought any further than that. It was just supposed to be there. Like her diary entries.
It was an album she made in secret, for herself. "I wrote at night when the children and husband were asleep."
She visited the studio from time to time. Sketched. Note-took. Sang about what had happened the night before. About what had happened 20 years ago. Vented through the microphone.
The songs became a story about a long series of loose connections, which eventually took shape in the same figure; Ulf Stureson. A story about how decades of thirst for love could finally be received by a single person.
