From dizzying electro-funk and R&B to moving classical pieces, Cole’s fourth album features a wide and wonderful entourage of artists and moods. A tornado of bombastic drums, surging bass, and wailing saxophone on ‘Bitches’ sharply contrasts with the lilting strings and mellow jazzy meditations on either side of it, while ‘Forgetting’ is a quaint, luscious pop song with guitars dipped in sunny beach sands.
