The multi-instrumentalist Martin (incidentally Mattias Bärjed’s brother) crafts magical pop. ‘Dance-band music for astronauts,’ we once told him—and it was the best description he’d ever heard. Maybe not dansband exactly, though; more Brian Wilson–ian, or perhaps a slightly psychedelic Sven-Ingvars as a fitting reference… mixed with something like World Party’s Goodbye Jumbo, you know what we mean? And his voice and the way he sings—wonderful… in Värmland dialect, no less. This record is absolutely, painfully essential, in our opinion here at Coop Records!
