International reggae band Meta and The Cornerstones release their fifth studio album, Echoes of Time, recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. This thoughtful and reflective project brings together the stories and sounds from their recent singles into one cohesive body of work. At its core, Echoes of Time is about awareness. The album does not attempt to resolve the contradictions of the world, but instead sits with them - examining the tension between past and present, memory and reality, connection and disconnection. Lead singer and songwriter Meta Dia writes about deeply personal moments of love, identity, and belonging, while also looking at the bigger picture of humanity and the world we live in. Musically, the album is built on the steady, heavy rhythms of classic roots reggae. However, it also branches out into a global sound.
