Originally released in 1984—a year that saw the breakthrough success of her signature hit “Tsugunai”—this Chinese-language album now returns as part of the revived ultra–high-end 100% Pure LP series. Centered on selections from her Taurus Records studio albums “Tabibito” (1983) and “Tsugunai” (1984), the album also features a newly recorded version of the Chinese classic “He Ri Jun Zai Lai,” serving as one of its major highlights across all 12 tracks.

“100% Pure LP” is a special Made-in-Japan product line launched in 2012, highly acclaimed worldwide as a pioneer of modern high-fidelity vinyl. One of its key features is the use of uncolored virgin vinyl, completely eliminating carbon and other pigments typically used in standard LPs—materials known to affect sound quality. By using only pure, straight PVC compound, the pressing process achieves outstanding consistency and stability.

Another hallmark of the series is the adoption of metal master pressing. By removing the conventional intermediate steps—metal mother and stamper—the grooves are pressed directly from the metal master, resulting in exceptionally faithful groove formation. However, due to its lower durability, the number of pressings must be strictly limited.

This release further enhances fidelity by adopting 45RPM, a format commonly used for 12-inch singles. While the shorter playback time per side necessitates a 2LP configuration, the wider and longer grooves—and the increased rotational speed—deliver greater stability and provide significant advantages in detail retrieval and overall sonic richness.

The audio for this edition is sourced from newly created 96kHz/24bit WAV files, transferred directly from the original analog master tapes. Mastering has been kept as flat as possible to preserve freshness and dynamic range, pursuing a natural and faithful representation of the original sound.

Through its uncompromising approach to every stage—from selecting tape sources and vinyl materials to the pressing process—the 100% Pure LP series brings out the full potential of the vinyl format. The result is a sound that retains the punch and warmth unique to analog, while eliminating any trace of muddiness or coloration. What emerges is, quite literally, a pure and crystal-clear listening experience.
